Student Laptop Loan Program
Supporting Student Success
Reliable technology is essential for academic success. This program expands access to the technology SUNY Broome students need, whether on campus or learning remotely.
Who Can Borrow a Laptop?
Currently enrolled, full-time SUNY Broome students who need access to a laptop for academic purposes.
How it Works:
- Borrow: Visit the SUNY Broome Library Circulation Desk, complete a Borrower’s Agreement, and pick up a laptop, charger, and case.
- Use: Laptops are available for a two-week loan.
- Return: Return the laptop and all accessories to the circulation desk by the due date.
But I Need a Laptop for More Than 2 Weeks!
That’s okay! Renewals may be possible, depending on demand. Here’s how.
- When you check out your laptop, schedule a renewal meeting within 2 days of the due date (desk staff can help with this).
- Bring the laptop and charger to this meeting.
- Renewals are based on laptop availability and overall demand. While they cannot be guaranteed, library staff will do their best to accommodate renewal requests.
The Fine Print:
- At this time, laptops must be picked up in person on campus. The library cannot ship laptops to your home.
- Failure to return a laptop or communicate with library staff about your renewal appointment may result in the laptop being remotely disabled. If this happens, you will need to return the laptop to the library for reactivation.
